Out and about in Chester County, PA wth antique tags and all. 42 years old and the Ol’ Mopar looks amazing. The 360's mid-r ange sound is intoxicating w ith an idle lope that’ll rattle your brain....

I saw one once but it wasn’t red. Did they make these in any other color?
I also thought it was "down on the field" at first.

Nope, All Bright Red from the factory. The one you saw might have been resprayed.
Hotwheels put out a yellow “Express” Truck modeled after the Lil Red Express, because they did not license the name etc. from MOPAR.
There is apparently some interesting lore about the D series special editions in the late 70's.. Midnite special, Warlock, Macho Power Wagon, etc... Cool times.

Maybe what I saw was a replica. Because who paints a Lil Red Express black? What a weird time for performance cars.

If it was black, I’d say you probably saw a Midnite Express or Warlock. They were offered in black.

Oh, that’s it. Definitely. I never knew that existed. It was the Midnight Express because of the lettering on the side.
So not a Warlock. Neato.
